Wow, far too many acronyms in that article title. Ahem.
When Sony launched their press conference yesterday in a fanfare of supertastic-wooweedoodle-kablammo 3D, featuring a stack of 3D presentations of games such as Killzone 2, they were expecting nothing but praise for a new technology that they were, from this writer’s point of view, attempting to force on the consumer public again.
The big problem? You probably could have invited every 3DTV owner in the world to that conference hall and still have room left over for extra guests.

Sony’s E3 conference was packed with many surprises; one such example was EA’s intention to utterly shower the PS3 in love in what seems to be a very sharp, jagged, obvious middle finger to Activision’s plans to render Call of Duty‘s DLC 360-timed-exclusive for the next few years. Good show, chaps.

Here we are folks. The last liveblog of E3! With Microsoft well and truly out of the running for “Best Conference” and Nintendo putting on a RIDICULOUSLY good show, Sony have got their work cut out for their show. They’ll need to seriously be packing the goods to wow us! Join me and some of the SG crew for some yuks, funnies, gags and outright fanboyism (we do have Rothbart on board after all) from 12pm Pacific (8pm UK)!

Time for the second of the big hardware team conferences. We were seriously underwhelmed by Microsoft’s offering that aped Nintendo’s E3 efforts of both 2008 and 2009; hopefully Nintendo doesn’t make it a hat trick and look even worse than Kinect managed to yesterday. Join me, Pillowfort and perhaps some more SG crew from 10am Pacific (5pm UK) for our liveblog of the Nintendo E3 press conference!

We’ve been fairly busy bees here at Sarcastic Gamer and the E3 show itself only formally kicks off today! With Nintendo’s press conference in two hours and Sony’s event following that, there’s sure to be a LOT going on later on. Here’s a handy guide to what we’ve posted so far.

Quietly sneaking about behind the big glitzy proceedings of the other publishers, SEGA have always been the masters of doing their own thing as it were; this year’s E3 is no different. Aside from the HD upgrade of Crazy Taxi, the usual line up of Sonic fare and more sequels to Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza, there isn’t much going on. Til we have a look at Vanquish, anyway.

Yes, folks. That is Michael Jackson: The Game. There is an actual game coming out titled Michael Jackson. And it’s not, sadly, Moonwalker 2. That’s what we wanted. But, as Ubisoft’s shambles yesterday was already progressing badly enough, it was not to be. Seriously. It was a mess.
Right, here we go. Let’s have a look at the press release gubbins.
Um.

It’d been teased with a minute-long clip earlier this month and last night Ubisoft unveiled yet another E3 reboot in the form of Driver: San Francisco. Effectively forgetting that GTA-aping sequels Parallel Lines and 76 ever happened, San Francisco brings us to the streets of, um, San Francisco to pick up the story where sort-of-alright-as-long-as-you-didn’t-get-out-the-car last-gen sequel Driv3r left off.

“Oh look, some more hate for Kinect,” you’re probably sighing. “Why not show us the Gears of War III trailer? Or Fable III? Or Halo Reach! I like teh Haloz!“ That’s the problem. I’d like to show you these great games but there’s something bugging the back of my brain, and that something is why these games were given the backseat to something that basically involves the least interactivity possible in a videogame.
Look at that image up there, of that lady playing Joy Ride (I forget if it has the space, goddamn bad game titles). Take the TV away from it mentally. Or I’ll do it for you, after the jump.
